Position Title: Teacher Assistant
Location: Chantilly, VA (20152)
Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel
Schedule: Day Shift | 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM
Assignment Length: 22 Weeks
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Pay Rate: $19–$23 per hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Teacher Assistant for an exciting job in Chantilly, VA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with lesson implementation and classroom instruction

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support

  • Support classroom routines, organization, and task completion

  • Supervise students during class, transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal

  • Implement behavior support strategies as directed

  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and structured learning environment

  • Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources

  • Observe student progress and report feedback to supervising teachers

  • Assist with personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and confidentiality

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers

  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and work under teacher supervision

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, empathy, and a student-focused approach

  • Ability to support positive behavior and classroom management

  • Dependability, flexibility, and professionalism

  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with school policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Teacher Assistant, Paraprofessional, or Instructional Aide

  • Experience supporting students with special or diverse learning needs

  • Training in behavior management, de-escalation, or crisis intervention

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification
