Job Description Inventory Accountant (Hybrid | Austin, TX Area)
Base Salary: $70,000-$85,000
Schedule: Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remote

The opportunity
We're partnering with a high-growth consumer brand to hire an Inventory Accountant to support day-to-day inventory accounting, reconciliations, and close activities.
This role sits at the intersection of accounting, inventory, and supply chain, offering strong exposure to how product flows through the business. You'll work closely with operations and supply chain partners to help ensure inventory balances are accurate, reconciled, and well-understood.
This is a great fit for someone who prefers hands-on accounting work, enjoys digging into details, and wants a role that's clearly defined but still offers room to grow.
What you'll do
Inventory Accounting & Reconciliations
- Support inventory accounting across owned, consignment, and drop-ship inventory
- Perform inventory reconciliations, including physical-to-GL tie-outs
- Track inventory movement and investigate discrepancies or variances
- Help maintain accurate inventory balances in collaboration with supply chain and operations
Month-End Close Support
- Prepare inventory-related journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close routines tied to inventory and cost accounts
- Support basic variance analysis related to inventory activity
- Maintain clean documentation and support schedules
Systems & Process Support
- Work within NetSuite to review inventory transactions and reports
- Assist with efforts to improve inventory processes and reporting accuracy
- Help strengthen controls and documentation around inventory accounts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to understand inventory flows
- Communicate clearly when issues or discrepancies arise
- Support audit requests related to inventory, as needed
What they're looking for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-4+ years of accounting experience, with hands-on inventory exposure
- Practical experience with: Inventory reconciliations (physical to GL). Inventory movement and flow tracking
- Strong attention to detail and comfort reconciling accounts
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work cross-functionally
Strongly preferred
- Experience using NetSuite
- Background in consumer products, CPG, retail, or other high-volume environments
- Exposure to: Drop-ship models, Consignment inventory, Basic cost accounting concepts, Foundational ASC 606 concepts
- Experience working across multi-entity environments
Work environment & flexibility
- Hybrid schedule : 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
- Fully onsite during February (audit period)
