Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction. This position is based in Panama City, FL, and is offered as a contract for the uping school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification or qualifications in Deaf Education or related field
- Experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across K-12 grade levels
- Knowledge of munication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip reading, and auditory training
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and modify curriculum
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and auditory equipment for hearing-impaired students

Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in alignment with their educational goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, audiologists, and general education teachers
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Provide training and resources to classroom staff and families to support student needs
- Maintain accurate records and ply with all state and federal regulations regarding special education services
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in Deaf education
