Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

These summer roles focus on varied age groups, including early childhood, elementary/middle/high school (K-12), and adult transition, creating meaningful connections across a range of developmental stages.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification in Illinois
  • Background in Special Education teaching, with a strong understanding of IEPs and differentiated instruction
  • Passion for promoting an inclusive, adaptive classroom culture
  • Prior experience supporting early childhood, K-12, or transitional age students with special needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Adaptability and collaborative spirit for working alongside staff and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and interventions that cater to individual student needs
  • Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), tracking student progress
  • Guide paraprofessionals and collaborate with related service providers
  • Engage in regular communication with families to report progress and address concerns
  • Foster a safe, positive learning environment that encourages self-advocacy
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
