Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a non-profit organization in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This is a Contract position that offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial operations within a small and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting practices and a proactive approach to managing financial reports and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and oversee month-end and year-end financial close activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Generate and analyze profit and loss statements, providing insights and recommendations.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Develop financial reports that support organizational decision-making and compliance requirements.
• Calculate and manage interest on loans, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage daily accounting tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless operations and timely reporting.
• Support auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reconciling discrepancies.
• Perform financial reconciliations to ensure consistency across accounts.• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online to manage financial operations.
• Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding of month-end and year-end close procedures.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to calculate and manage interest on loans accurately.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to work effectively within a small team.
