In this vital role, you'll manage court case processing, apply independent judgment, and ensure compliance with statutes and policies. You'll deliver exceptional customer service to the public, assist judges, oversee case filings, and may supervise staff. Characteristic and Assigned Duties
- Support court proceedings by assisting in the courtroom, administering oaths, operating recording equipment, and tracking case progress.
- Manage juror lists, summonses, and payments using automated systems.
- Collaborate with attorneys and court staff to resolve filing discrepancies.
- Help train and mentor new staff members.
- Enter orders, court dates, pleadings, and other case information.
- Interact with the public in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Prepare and process official legal documents.
- Support management with timekeeping and workload distribution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated expertise in court procedures, legal documents, and relevant laws.
- Strong understanding of court operations and scope of authority.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time, and handle high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and independent decision-making skills in alignment with policies and objectives.
- Skilled in maintaining complex records and preparing reports using automated systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and follow instructions.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and address employee relations issues appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- An associate’s degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution is required, along with two years of administrative experience performing technical office duties.
- A combination of education and experience may also be considered on a year-for-year basis.
