Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled and meticulous Accounting Manager to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments and play a key role in driving process improvements and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the entire monthly close process, ensuring all accounting tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable standards.
• Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition, including reviewing contracts, preparing revenue schedules, and coordinating with Sales, FP& A, and Legal teams.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and related supporting documentation.
• Lead the annual audit process by preparing client schedules, serving as the primary contact for external auditors, and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit engagement.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance operational efficiency.
• Play an instrumental role in the implementation and enhancement of billing and revenue tools, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Collaborate closely with the Controller to develop accounting policies, prepare technical memos, and support operational initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, supporting their development and ensuring the team scales effectively.• Proven experience managing month-end close processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application in a corporate setting.
• Expertise in conducting financial audits and preparing audit-related documentation.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar accounting software to manage financial operations.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed variance analyses.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for collaborating across departments effectively.
• Experience mentoring or managing entry level team members in an accounting or finance role.
