Carpenter Dental is seeking a qualified Registered Dental Hygienist that will fit our culture of excellence. We are a dynamic office offering a variety of services to our amazing patients for the past 20 years. We care for a wide range of patients, aged 2 and up with a variety of treatment needs. We excel in listening to our patients to establish trust with them and help them understand their unique oral health needs. Everyone on our team believes healthy gums and bone are the foundation of good dentistry. The hygienist we are looking for will be well supported by the entire team and surrounded by other hygienists ranging in experience and knowledge. We strive to support one another for the benefit of our patients and practice. Our dental practice has a growth mindset, believing we are all on a journey to improve ourselves and perfect our techniques. We desire a hygienist with a passion for treating periodontal disease and becoming a foundational team member to include co-diagnosis with our Dentists. We require a SD license with strong preference of local anesthetic and nitrous certification/experience.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Maintain equipment and instruments-sterile and sharpen instruments
Obtain current medical history of conditions and medications and use this information to determine oral health implications
Gather diagnostic images to include pt photos, x-rays, intraoral photos, and accurate charting (dental and perio) to assist in thorough treatment planning and diagnosis
Perfect and refine clinical skills to adequately remove biofilm using ultrasonic scalers, hand scalers and polishers
Intelligently educate the patient about conditions of their oral health and recommend treatment to anticipate the Drs diagnosis
Present patient with thorough treatment plan and answer questions about procedures and finances
Ensure patients are properly scheduled for their next hygiene appt
Be flexible to learn cloud based dental software: Curve Dental
Maintain excellent OSHA protocols before, during and after patient care
Document all pertinent information about the patients appointment with precise detail
