Project Manager – Construction
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial construction projects. This role combines construction project management oversight with strong on-site leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with construction design specifications, budget constraints, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, budget, and manage industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Coordinate with owners, engineers, vendors, and construction subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget control.
Oversee construction field operations, site safety, and subcontractor performance.
Work closely with Purchasing to procure construction materials and equipment, including long-lead industrial components.
Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
Prepare construction progress reports, track project costs, and manage change orders.
Enforce OSHA regulations and construction site-specific safety standards.
Ensure required construction permits are submitted and all projects comply with city and regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement construction cost-reduction strategies without compromising safety or quality.
Optimize labor, materials, and equipment utilization to improve construction efficiency.
Analyze construction workflows to eliminate waste and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent construction experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing industrial, heavy civil, or large commercial construction projects (manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or utilities preferred).
Strong understanding of construction-related mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost control.
Proficiency with MS Project or similar construction scheduling software.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
