Job DescriptionDescription:

The Human Resource Generalist assists with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, employee relations, training, and enforcing company policies and practices. In this key role, the HR Generalist partners with employees at all levels to maintain and enhance APT’s AMAZING employee experience!

What You'll Do:

  • Performs and serves as a consultant of tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, compensation, benefits, leaves, employee relations, performance management, recognition, training and policies and procedures.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management and employee relations guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, accommodations, etc.).
  • Works closely with the HR Assistant regarding employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and leaders, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Utilizes HR software for effective management of employee records, performance tracking, and reporting requests.
  • Collaborates with leaders to assist with workers compensation escalations and OSHA reporting.
  • Acts as an employee champion and change agent by assessing and anticipating HR-related needs.
  • Communicates various human resource policies, procedures, programs, laws, standards and other government regulations across the organization.
  • Creates and communicates trainings and resource documents to help educate and guide employees and leaders on various topics.
  • Creates and updates standard operating procedures for HR related tasks and processes.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory/legal changes, and new technologies in all areas of human resources.

Other Duties:

  • Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules and standards.
  • Manages special projects, as needed.
  • Travel, as needed, to APT locations, professional/industry conferences, and career fairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate Has: (include, but are not limited to)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Experience with leaves, accommodations and employee relations is required.
  • PHR, SPHR or CP certification a plus!
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Ability to travel to other locations
