Carborundum Grinding Wheel Company, a leader in precision grinding wheels, seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to oversee and execute critical maintenance functions across our facility. This role combines hands-on repair and troubleshooting with leadership responsibilities –including designing and implementing a preventive maintenance program to support uptime and reliability of core production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preventive Maintenance Leadership: Design, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program across all major core pieces of production equipment.
· General Maintenance: Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance of industrial machinery and plant facilities.
· Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
· Equipment Support: Maintain equipment including presses, mixers, ovens, and control panels.
· Inventory and Management: Monitor spare parts inventory, anticipate needs, and coordinate restocking with the purchasing department.
· Team Collaboration: Support and mentor other staff; coordinate efforts with production leadership.
· Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean workspace in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred).
· Minimum 3 years' general industrial maintenance experience, with solid electrical troubleshooting abilities preferred.
· Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
· Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
· Basic familiarity with Microsoft Outlook (email), Word, and Excel is preferred, but not required.
· Must be self-motivated, dependable, and proactive.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, sit, walk, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

· Job Type: Full-time
· Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, occasional overtime
