Position SummaryThe Bench Mechanic is responsible for the assembly, disassembly, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components in a controlled bench environment. This role requires strict adherence to FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, precision workmanship, and the ability to interpret technical documentation.Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, disassembly, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components such as valves, actuators, pumps, and subassemblies
  • Interpret and follow technical data including engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs)
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify tolerances and ensure conformance
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of mechanical components
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, AS9100 quality standards, and company procedures
  • Document all work performed accurately, including inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Identify non-conforming parts and initiate corrective actions per quality procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work environment
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve technical issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, repair, or overhaul (aviation or manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and tolerances
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and work order systems
