As a Senior Pathway Program Analyst, You will lead programs to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. You will plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing programs, direct and coordinate program activities, and exercise good and consistent judgment over functions and/or phases of programs. Programs will include but not be limited to social and public welfare, education, economics, and public relations.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides independent, advanced, subject-matter expertise and analysis for designated programs, serving a wide range of stakeholders including applicant organizations, commissioners, appraisers, the general public, ANCC office staff, and other key constituents.
  • Given the prominence of this role within the nursing community, you must be a proven leader, adept in independent decision-making, project management, critical thinking, and comprehensive coordination across all facets of the program. You are skilled at cultivating professional relationships and engaging in strategic initiatives to broaden and enhance the program's vision within their respective areas of expertise.
  • Creates, reviews and presents reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives. Prepares program reports for superiors.
  • Serves as a primary resource and expert with comprehensive knowledge of the Program, overseeing the management, coordination, communication, assistance, guidance, leadership, and support for organizations, domestic and international, throughout all phases of the application process.
  • This position necessitates a high degree of specialized knowledge, critical thinking, and strategic leadership within the field, demanding a sophisticated understanding of complex organizational structures and issues and including possessing the ability to navigate and influence multifaceted organizational dynamics.
  • Coordinates the multifaceted appraisal process, overseeing and managing the client's application from initial application validation through all phase of the application process. Provides independent analysis, expert guidance, and advanced problem-solving strategies to organizations.
  • Interfaces with program appraisers, coordinating and managing the appraisal process while ensuring the integrity and quality of all appraisal documentation presented to the Commission, including the review of data submitted by organizations.
  • This position demands a high level of expertise in providing timely guidance and education to appraisers, completing thorough reviews of appraiser reports, and performing extensive editing and writing tasks. Critical analysis is essential to determine when consultation with other experts, such as the Office of General Counsel, Publications, Marketing, or Research and Informatics or any external experts, is necessary.
  • Collaborate with fellow Senior Program Analysts, Assistant Director(s), and the Education and Program Outreach Manager to conduct comprehensive assessments of the learning needs of applicant organizations, including both initial and redesignating applicants, as well as organizations within the Pre-Intent Program and those expressing general interest in the program.
  • Design and implement a range of instructional strategies and supplemental resources, utilizing various delivery methods such as webinars, conference calls, email communications, website, onsite and virtual program guidance, annual Program Director meetings, and conference concurrent sessions.
  • Initiates, maintains, and leads multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing the program. This includes providing expert assessments and recommendations for the ongoing development and revision of manuals, publications, established programs, services, processes, policies, and procedures, as well as involvement in special projects and strategic planning.
  • The role requires a strong commitment to adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards within the context of ANCC's scope of work and its Quality Management System.


What you bring to the American Nurses Enterprise:

  • RN required; master’s degree required in nursing, administration, business, or education. If master’s is not in nursing, then baccalaureate must be in nursing.
  • The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in project management, in a health-related organization.
  • Knowledge of the Pathway to Excellence Framework is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Experience with collection and analysis of data for the purposes of decision-making preferred. Work experience in acute care required and work experience in pre- and post-acute care setting preferred.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office products and experienced working with a variety of databases
  • Experience in the use of various statistical computer programs preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with executive level stakeholders, utilizing appropriate independent decision making. Must have knowledge of nursing, hospital management, and quality improvement theories.
  • Work independently, multi-task under pressure, prioritize effectively, take initiative and be innovative.
  • Team building, leadership, and analytical skills. Nursing informatics experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft office products and databases.
  • Articulate verbal communication and poise in presenting complex topics to prestigious leadership groups, at national conferences and other formats using many formats: PowerPoint, webcast, and panels.
  • Superior writing and meticulous editing skills required.
  • Superior customer service and teamwork skills and abilities.
  • Discretion in managing confidential information.

Work Schedule:
