Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice in our Lexington office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental hygiene procedures, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental team. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Experience with Open Dental, along with pediatric dentistry expertise, is highly desirable. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient safety while ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients.

Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planning to maintain optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
- Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry and medical imaging.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Open Dental.
- Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to children.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care.
- Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and industry best practices to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Proven experience in general dentistry, with preferred background in pediatric dentistry.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental, or similar platforms.
- Experience with dental assisting, chairside assisting, and infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental care.
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment is highly advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 34 per week
