CONTRACT DETAILS:
13 weeks. $2800 - $2900/wk for travelers. Local rates differ. 40 hrs/wk. 5x8s. Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams.
Must be license in MD.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team in Baltimore, Maryland. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammographic imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role plays a vital part in early detection and diagnosis of breast conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure
- Educate and prepare patients for procedures, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Ensure compliance with MQSA, ARRT, and facility-specific quality standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Perform routine quality control checks and assist with equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results
- Adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety guidelines at all times
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Mammography (M) required
- Active Maryland Radiologic Technologist License
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of MQSA regulations and quality assurance requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of mammography experience
- Experience with 3D mammography (tomosynthesis)
- Familiarity with digital mammography equipment and EMR systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to assist and position patients, including those with limited mobility
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to operate imaging equipment
