The Hospice Physician role within our organization focuses on delivering compassionate medical care and effective symptom management for patients at the end of life, whether in home settings or inpatient facilities. This position entails leading interdisciplinary teams and working closely with home health, palliative care, and hospital providers to ensure a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to care. Our Oregon Hospice Program is dedicated to providing heartfelt support to patients and their families throughout the Portland region, ensuring comfort, dignity, and tranquility during life’s most challenging times.
We are looking for a skilled Hospice Physician who can effectively manage bedside care for patients experiencing distressing symptoms and foster collaboration among various hospice disciplines. As part of our extensive Home and Community Services program, this essential role integrates with Home Health, Palliative Medicine, Geriatrics, and hospital practitioners, guaranteeing that every patient receives comprehensive care that addresses both their medical and emotional needs.
- Full-time employment
- Community-based outpatient setting with a strong emphasis on in-person patient care, both at home and in hospitals; occasional virtual visits may be conducted
- Collaborate as part of a provider team that includes HPM-trained physicians and Nurse Practitioners, serving as a backup to the Hospice Medical Director
- Oversee one of five interdisciplinary teams (IDTs) in the Portland Metro area, including service areas in the Gorge and Clark County, WA

Work Environment
The Oregon Region Hospice Program is tasked with the medical direction and oversight of hospice services across the region’s ministries, including care delivered in home settings, assisted living, and acute care facilities. Our primary objective is to support patients in living their lives as they choose, ideally in familiar surroundings surrounded by family and friends.
