Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students in an alternative education elementary environment by serving as an Instructional Assistant (IA) for a specialized program designed to meet diverse learning needs. This role involves working closely with educators to provide focused assistance that promotes student engagement and academic growth.
Location: Lees Summit, MO
Duration: April 6 May 22
Schedule: MondayThursday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:45 AM 4:00 PM
Setting: Elementary school alternative education program
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with classroom management and support individualized learning plans.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction aligned with teacher directives.
- Encourage positive social and behavioral development among students.
- Facilitate communication between students and teaching staff to ensure educational goals are met.
- Help prepare instructional materials and organize classroom activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or instructional assistant preferred.
- Ability to engage effectively with elementary-aged students in a supportive and patient manner.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility with schedule and tasks as needed to accommodate program demands.
