A full-time Speech Language Pathologist position is available within an elementary school setting in Norfolk, VA. This contract role spans the full school year and involves working with students exhibiting a range of behavioral challenges, from more severe cases to those integrated into inclusive environments. The program is highly collaborative, supported by a dedicated team and additional support staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification and credentials as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC)
- Experience in pediatric and school-based speech therapy
- Valid Virginia SLP license or a license application pending with the expectation of activation by August
- Experience working with students with behavioral disorders preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Providing speech and language therapy services to elementary-aged students
- Developing individualized therapy plans based on student needs
- Collaborating with teachers, specialists, and support staff to support student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and outcomes
