We’re looking for a detail-oriented and experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment where hard work and dedication are recognized and appreciated.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving automobile accident claims, with a strong emphasis on bodily injury, including uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. You’ll review medical records, bills, and supporting documentation to assess claim value, negotiate settlements with individuals or legal representatives, and manage litigation when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Investigate and assess coverage across a range of casualty claims under auto, homeowners, and umbrella policies.•Interpret policy language and analyze claim facts to determine coverage and liability accurately.•Conduct comprehensive investigations, including interviews with insureds, claimants, and witnesses, and review all relevant documentation.•Draft clear and effective correspondence, such as reservation of rights letters, disclaimers, and other required communications.•Maintain professional communication with all parties involved in the claim process.•Establish and adjust reserves based on claim developments and exposures.•Document coverage and liability evaluations thoroughly and clearly within the claim file.•Identify potential fraud indicators and refer cases to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) when appropriate.•Evaluate bodily injury exposures to determine claim value and settlement strategy.•Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other representatives.•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards in all aspects of claim handling and documentation.•Mentor and train less experienced staff, sharing best practices and technical expertise.•Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining empathy and professionalism throughout the claim lifecycle.•Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
Qualifications/Education and/or Experience•Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.•3+ years of experience handling auto claims, with a strong background in bodily injury, legal liability, and litigation strategy.•Solid understanding of property, auto, and casualty insurance policies, including coverage interpretation and core insurance principles.•Proven ability to evaluate coverage and liability accurately and efficiently.•Strong working knowledge of Unfair/Fair Claims Practices Acts and applicable Insurance Codes.•Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.•Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate confidently and professionally.•Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.•Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals and work both independently and as part of a team.•Strong analytical skills with the capacity to assess complex situations and make sound decisions.•Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, or SCLA are a plus.
Salary $65,000-$95,000 DOE
