Location: Chesapeake, VA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 4 PM
Type: Direct Hire

Our client is one of the largest independently owned motor and pump shops in the U.S. that focuses on rebuilding and remanufacturing rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and knowledge of NETA standards, IEEE specifications and NEMA specifications as they pertain to low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Good technical understanding and application of all types of switchgear, protective relaying and controls of switchgear, including the operation, maintenance and testing.
- Hands-on experience on low and medium voltage switchgear, including disassembly, component inspection/repair, reassembly, and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in shop and field.
- Train personnel to troubleshoot, repair, and test power distribution equipment.

- Minimum 4 years in a power distribution industry
- NETA or NICET Level 2 or higher Electrical Power Testing Certifications
- Highscool Diploma or GED
- Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for extended periods, and able to climb/work at heights.
- Valid Driver's License
