Transportation Aide

Part Time Day Shift/$19 Per hour

About the Role:

The Transportation Aide plays a vital role in supporting healthcare and social assistance operations by ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients, staff, and essential materials. This position requires a dependable individual who can follow detailed instructions and maintain consistent attendance to meet the dynamic scheduling needs of the healthcare environment. The aide will contribute to patient comfort and safety during transit, demonstrating genuine care and respect for confidentiality at all times. By effectively coordinating with healthcare teams, the Transportation Aide helps facilitate smooth operational flow and enhances overall service delivery. This role is essential in maintaining the logistical backbone that supports patient care and organizational efficiency within the healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic computer literacy to document and communicate transport activities.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written directions accurately.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient privacy.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years driving experience with a good driving record.
  • Must possess a valid Maryland State Drivers License and have current

    CPR & First Aid Certification.

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients safely between various locations within healthcare facilities or to external appointments as directed.
  • Assist patients with mobility challenges during transport, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Follow oral and written instructions accurately to adhere to schedules and protocols.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with healthcare staff regarding transport status and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and respect privacy during all transportation activities.
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Document transport activities and complete required records in compliance with organizational policies.
