Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Shop Helper / General Labor / Mechanical Assembler. This role supports the production of custom steel components in a fast-paced shop environment. You will be responsible for moving materials through various departments, operating shop machinery, and assisting with the final assembly of custom projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support: Handle assigned steel component projects from start to finish.
- Material Handling: Move materials and finished parts between departments; must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Machinery & Tools: Operate radio drill presses, automated grinding equipment, and various hand tools (drills, grinders, etc.).
- Technical Tasks: Read simple blueprints and use measuring tools like tape measures, rulers, and scales.
- Assembly: Perform mechanical assembly of finished products using hand tools and following specific production processes.
Requirements
- Background: Prior experience in a machine shop, carpentry, fabrication, or metal finishing is highly preferred.
- Skills: Ability to follow basic measurements and production blueprints.
- Compliance: Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long shifts and perform heavy lifting.
Schedule & Pay
- Pay: $18.00–$22.00/hour (Based on experience).
- Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.
- Overtime: Friday, 6:00 AM–11:00 AM (Occasional, during peak seasons only).
