Inventory Control & Distribution Specialist -- Grain and Dairy Operations

Own the end-to-end movement and stewardship of materials that power our Grain and Livestock/Dairy divisions. If you thrive on accuracy, safe handling, and dependable service, this role is built for you.
Core impact areas
- Warehouse operations: Load/unload trucks and trailers; secure loads for travel; stage and store items properly.
- Receiving accuracy: Inspect deliveries, unpack, validate quantities, and process returns from job sites.
- Quality & returns: Segregate defects, report issues, and execute returns according to procedure.
- Inventory integrity: Maintain a robust tracking system; complete cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Replenishment & purchasing: Requisition stock to order points; purchase supplies as directed; expedite vendor shipments.
- Storage care: Organize and protect finished goods across warehouses, lean-tos, and outdoor yards for Grain and Dairy.
- Order fulfillment: Assemble/check orders; pack and crate; coordinate freight; load goods for customers, service teams, millwrights, and jobs.
- Documentation: Keep complete records for inventory, shipping, and receiving; prepare packing slips and bills of lading.
- Job costing support: Assist millwrights, service personnel, and installers with accurate job charges for materials issued/returned.
- Stakeholder service: Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, millwrights, service staff, and crew foremen.
- Fleet coordination: Direct pickups/drop-offs for the Grain and L/S division; serve as a backup CDL driver.
- Asset readiness: Clean/inspect vehicles, tools, and equipment; report maintenance; store ready for use.
- Cross-functional support: Assist the Customer Parts & Service Coordinator when needed.
- Credentials: Maintain a valid driver’s license and CDL per DOT rules; keep forklift certification current.
- Facilities support: Help maintain main office grounds/yard and assist at other sites as assigned.
- Safety first: Promote safe work practices and adhere to company safety policies.
- Other duties: Step in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or at least six months’ relevant experience; or an equivalent mix as determined by Grain and Dairy Division Managers.
- Ability to read maps, instructions, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver’s license meeting DOT requirements.
- Forklift certified.
