Graphic Designer / Executive Assistant: This position is responsible for the design and creation of the printed marketing and Special Event materials. They will provide administrative support at a high level, exercising independent judgment and discretion relative to matters of significance to the organization, along with the authority to act with minimal supervision. This role serves as a key communicator to all levels of the staff and volunteers on behalf of the CEO and Management Cabinet. The ideal candidate must display a strong attention to detail, exceptional customer orientation skills, a proven background in graphic design and proactive organizational skills.
This is a full-time exempt position working from the Scout Service Center located at 701 Wyman Park Dr., Baltimore or off site as needed.
The Baltimore Area Council serves over 12,000 youth annually in central Maryland, supported by more than 5,000 adult volunteers. The council has an operating budget of $5M and is supported by a full-time staff of 30. For more information, visit www.baltimorescouting.org.
This position includes a competitive benefits package, a starting salary of $45,000 - $50,000, medical, dental, vision, prescription plan, long-term disability, accident & life insurance, 24 days of vacation/PTO, 12 paid holidays, retirement plan, and annual training.
Responsibilities:
- Interaction with the Council Board of Directors and coordination of Board of Directors meetings.
- Work with the Development staff supporting the graphic designs and layouts for Council Special Events, program promotional materials, annual report, and other activities.
- Administrative support as needed to the senior leadership.
- Manages and maintains highly sensitive information with complete discretion and confidentiality.
Desired Skills:
- Education in Business Administration, Management, Graphic Design or similar field.
- Must be comfortable interacting with diverse audiences.
- Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Word, Excel, as well as accurate typing and proofreading skills.
- Proven graphic design skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Committed to personal and professional productivity while maintaining high ethical and professional working standards.
- Outgoing personality with high service orientation
- A Scouting background is helpful but not required.
