Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled Registered Nurse with Med/Surg expertise and trauma level II experience is needed for a 13-week contract assignment in Newburgh, IN. This clinical role focuses on medical-surgical inpatient care in a 32-bed unit that will expand to 37 beds in early 2025. The position offers a dynamic environment with strong leadership and a collaborative nursing team.

Location:
Situated near a thriving medical campus, this assignment is based primarily on the main unit with possible floating to neighboring campuses within an eight to eleven-mile radius. Newburgh offers a peaceful small-town atmosphere with convenient access to larger city amenities, providing a balance of work and lifestyle.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a mixed patient population including medical and surgical cases such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, amputations, wounds, and post-surgical management
  • Administer IV fluids, antibiotic therapies, heparin drips, and wound/vac care
  • Utilize EPIC electronic charting system efficiently after completing a checkoff class
  • Float within skillset across hospital campuses as needed, with advanced notice
  • Collaborate with unit leadership and charge nurses to maintain excellent patient care and teamwork
  • May be required to precept students and new hires

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current active compact RN license and certifications including AHA BLS and NIHSS
  • Minimum of two years strong med/surg nursing, with one travel assignment and trauma level II experience
  • Recent EPIC charting experience required
  • Comfortable managing diverse patient conditions, including behavioral health and confusion

Schedule & Expectations:

  • 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available on request)
  • Three weekends out of every six weeks and alternating holidays
  • No on-call or call-back requirements
  • Strict floating protocols with cross-campus support
