We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Chocker to secure vehicles within carriers for transport. In this role, you will be responsible for properly positioning vehicles, applying and removing chocks and straps, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed throughout the loading and unloading process. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure each vehicle by placing and removing chockers on all four wheels.
- Accurately position automobiles within carriers to maintain proper spacing and load balance.
- Apply and tighten straps to secure vehicles for transport.
- Remove all chocks and straps upon arrival at the terminal.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accountability for personal safety and follow all safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, handling objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 80 lbs.

Work Environment
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and varying temperatures.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including split shifts, days, nights, and weekends, based on train arrival and departure schedules.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor elements.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lorton, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
