POSITION: Physical Therapist

Chicago Hand and Orthopedic Surgery Centers is continuously growing in search of employees that reflect our own philosophy of caring for the patient with orthopedic needs. Currently we are searching for full time position Physical Therapist for the location in Oakbrook Terrace.

  • JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for patient-centered outpatient care, development of an individualized plan of care and treatment through all phases of healing. We emphasize high quality compassionate care, evidence based treatment and restoring patients to their highest level of performance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for physical therapy

  • Current Professional Illinois licensure as a physical therapist

  • Current CPR certification

  • Must have experience in post-operative cases, sports related injuries and overuse syndromes

  • Excellent communication skills and motivational skills to help patients

  • Experience communicating and interacting with physicians

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs skilled evaluations and ongoing assessment of each patient of all diagnosis

  • Performs post-operative, preventative and non-operative treatments according to established physical therapy standards and department policies and procedures

  • Establishes individualized treatment goals defined by the patient’s capacity and tolerance

  • Measures performance and outcomes to ensure comprehensive care for patients

  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to a changing workload in a positive and professional manner

  • Educates patient, family, significant others and other medical personnel

  • Extensively documents patient progress in an EMR system, in a timely manner, according to payer guidelines

  • Works with the referring physician and patient to ensure a continuum of care

  • Development of physical therapy services

  • Supervision of physical therapy staff

  • Team player and ability to work closely with other clinical staff in order to create an excellent clinical team

  • Attends all regular staff meetings and participates in projects within the department and facility

  • Attends required continuing education courses and meetings to keep up with the latest medical and surgical advances, ensure continued competence and maintain appropriate licensure

  • Attends annual CPR, OSHA and other training programs as required

Typical Physical Demands

Physical therapists are required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The position requires full range of body motion including handling patients, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. May spend time stooping, kneeling, bending and crouching. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required.
