Actuarial Analyst

Are you an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with a passion for diving deep into complex data and shaping business decisions? We're seeking a talented Actuarial Analyst to join our team and play a vital role in analyzing emerging trends, developing insightful frameworks, and recommending strategic pricing and valuation adjustments.

In this role, you'll leverage your technical expertise and growing business acumen to tackle challenging projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams across underwriting, compliance, and customer care. You'll translate complex data into actionable insights, communicating your findings clearly to management and contributing to the development of critical pricing and valuation tools.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze emerging experience, monitor market trends, and assess their impact on our business.
  • Develop and refine analytical frameworks to support strategic decision-making.
  • Recommend updates to pricing, valuation, and reserving assumptions.
  • Clearly communicate research findings and analysis to management.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on key initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain pricing or valuation tools, and assist with state filings, financial reports, and tax returns (depending on assignment).
  • Mentor student actuaries and interns, fostering their professional growth.
  • Prepare regular reports and handle ad-hoc projects as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
  • 2+ years of hands-on actuarial experience in business analysis, pricing, valuation, ALM, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language (SQL, Python, or VBA preferred). Familiarity with Alteryx is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the Dental/Vision insurance industry is highly desired.
  • Experience with Predictive analytics/data analytics is highly desired.
