Job Description
We are seeking a Project Engineer to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles in the solid waste assignment areas and related fields. The role involves preparing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications. You will work independently on engineering or scientific problems, coordinating and planning work effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fieldwork in various terrains and weather conditions, including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections.
- Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and preparing permit applications.
- Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry-related conferences and trade shows.
- Receive technical guidance on complex problems and seek supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting.
- Tennessee EI registration (preferably civil) required or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
- Competency in using MS Office and environmental consulting software; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Work Environment
The role requires both fieldwork and office-based tasks. Fieldwork will be performed in varied terrains and weather conditions, necessitating a high level of adaptability. Office tasks will include CAD drafting and report writing. The position involves business development activities, and candidates may need to travel for conferences and meetings. Professional attire is expected in client-facing situations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brentwood, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $40.87/hr.
