Job Overview
Job Title: Secretary
Facility: Mount Sinai Health System
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11234
Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Pay range: $20 to $21 per hour
Start Date: 10/20/2025
Hours Per Week: 37.5
Hours Per Day: 7.5
Days Per Week: 5 (Monday–Friday, Day Shift)
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have:
3–5 years of secretarial/administrative experience.
Typing speed of at least 75 words per minute.
Proficiency with word processing and presentation software (MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact at all organizational levels.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
Familiarity with MOSAIQ/ARIA and Eagle systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and secretarial support to attending physicians, including phone management, messaging, and responding to departmental inquiries.
Handle personalized and confidential administrative duties under the direction of attending physicians.
Manage patient calls, schedule appointments, and facilitate communication with physicians and staff.
Schedule patients in MOSAIQ/ARIA for departmental services (consultations, follow-ups, simulations, brachytherapy) and coordinate outside diagnostic procedures.
Initiate pre-authorization processes for procedures when required.
Complete hospital registration in Eagle and transfer demographic information into MOSAIQ/ARIA for department use.
Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring completeness and availability of records.
Collect demographic and financial information from patients/families in a professional and discreet manner.
Maintain organized office records, files, and documentation.
Prepare correspondence, photocopies, and general clerical support as needed.
Provide backup coverage for other administrative staff during absences.
Maintain punctual attendance and a positive, professional demeanor.
Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with strong problem-solving ability.
