Essential Function:
Our Logistic Leads at Silfex perform day-to-day shipping and receiving activities as well as packaging of finished goods with excellence ensuring the smooth and timely flow of materials to our internal as well as external customers. Team Leads at Silfex are also responsible for working in partnership with the department supervisor/management team, supporting them in the building and development of the team. Team Leads spend over 80% of their time on the warehouse floor providing leadership to the team through training, technical guidance, allocation of staffing, operation of equipment and other supportive functions ensuring that the quality of product, customer delivery and productivity targets are met on a daily basis.
Job Description, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize, prioritize and delegate workload to meet daily output targets
- Perform direct labor tasks as needed. Demonstrate flexibility in applying vocational and technical skill in ways that support achievement of team’s targets
- Understand existing barriers and predict potential barriers that might prevent the team from achieving its daily goals and work proactively to eliminate them or minimize the impact
- Serve as first response decision maker for quality, throughput and scheduling issues. Confer with maintenance/facilities, quality control, supply chain or other support functions to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain competency in key functions in the area, including operation and troubleshooting of key equipment
- Develop and maintain super user status with regard to all ERP transactions pertaining to the area
- Ensure cleanliness of the area and working order of equipment. Perform and assist with general and routine housekeeping tasks
- Ensure collection of all data (safety, quality, delivery, cost) and execution of ERP transactions occurs daily and in a timely manner
- Ensure daily communication of defined shift metrics, opportunities, project status to the team, oncoming shift counterpart, supervisor, engineering and others as identified in the shift communication plan
- Model compliance in all areas to the team. Conduct periodic audits to monitor compliance. Drive resolution to all shop floor issues by providing technical guidance, focused and individualized training, generating action items with proactive follow up, and responsible escalation
- Assist with development of methods to monitor performance. Participate in Gemba walks and metric review meetings. Assist with analysis and manipulation of data to establish performance standards
- Champion standard work and continuous improvement by actively engaging in drafting, review and update of checklists, documents, job aids, procedures and any other standard work tools
- Encourage good performance; motivate employees using appropriate feedback methods. Be a reflective listener to accurately understand the needs of the team. Provide feedback to supervisor on employee performance
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6+ years of relevant work experience (minimum 1-year prior leadership or Silfex Logistics experience preferred)
- Prior experience with ERP System
- Must have forklift certification
- Must have ability to wear a respirator and meet OSHA respirator compliance obligations
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to assess drawings, and specifications for assembling parts and inspect for proper fit
- Ability to earn a turret truck certification
- Computer skills must include the basic - Standard computer hardware and software, Internet, Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets
- Must be safety and quality minded
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing pace of work in the area
- Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Operating a turret truck would require the employee to be comfortable at height of 20 feet. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate. The employee will occasionally be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment to include respirator, hood, and acid PPE.
