The Role Youll Play


You will direct childcare services, ensures that day to day supervision of residents is consistent with agency standards and effectively works as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Assumes the role of Unit Supervisor in their absence.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a treatment environment. This role can use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.

In the nature of being at a residential and school living environment, there may be times you experience conditions in which challenging behavior can be exhibited from our youth to include but not limited to, physical agitation, physical violence and/or emotion outburst.



Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Due to the nature of the populations served, there is a physical component to behavioral interventions that requires the YCP to be able to safely perform physical restraints when necessary, as outlined and trained via Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and/or Safe Crisis Management.



Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This full-time role features varying hours depending on assigned shifts, with the schedule determined by the Unit Supervisor. It often requires extended hours, weekend work, and is essential during inclement weather. The position emphasizes the use of program-approved, youth-guided techniques to build a healthy, trusting relationship with residents, which, in alignment with Everstands Theory of Change, serves as the cornerstone for recovery and the development of lasting skills.



Travel

Travel, if needed, is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.






Essential Functions:

  • Model and act in accordance with Everstands core values: safety, empathy, relationships, and impact.
  • Honor differences, acknowledge uniqueness, and amplify all voices. Partner with Everstands Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee to build (and participate) in trainings and group experiences that strengthen Everstands commitment to EDI. Model the use of inclusive language.
  • Demonstrate and practice Everstands leadership mindset, Choose kindness. Solve problems and learn together. Make it happen.
  • Consistently implements each residents treatment plan and completes documentation, as required, including facilitating Supportive Counseling Services, such as Individual and Group Supportive Counseling, as a Certified Supportive Counselor for residents
  • Accurately administers medication according to physician and/or nurses orders and documents the medication administration record (MAR), as a Certified AMAP (Training to be completed within 6 months acceptance of Lead TSS/ESS position).
  • Actively encourages and reinforces residents participation in maintaining established standards of cleanliness and orderliness in their living unit and the surrounding campus.
  • Ensures that each residents health needs are identified and met within the specified time frame.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the various programs at Everstand in order to adequately orient staff and residents to the program.
  • Actively encourages and supports each residents need to achieve satisfactory academic performance.
  • Participates in the development of unit activities, recreation activities and spiritual life awareness while providing direct supervision as required.
  • Provides direct mealtime supervision to assure that residents are provided a balanced meal and that dining procedures are consistently followed.
  • Completes a thorough inventory for each residents belongings upon admission, discharge and on a quarterly basis.
  • Completes assigned unit system responsibilities and documentation, as needed.
  • Contributes to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors by implementing Everstands Behavior Support and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques.
  • Ability to organize staffing and therapeutic programming.
  • Able to engage children in positive decision making.
  • Obtain and maintain certification as a user in Everstands electronic health record software system, Cx360.
  • Promotes effective communication through compliance with logbook policy.
  • Fulfills the responsibility of Back Up Campus Supervisor On-Call on a rotating basis.





Non-Essential Functions:

  • Provides coverage, as needed, for direct care vacancies.
  • Valid Drivers License with ability to operate Agency Vehicles
  • Provides safe transportation in agency vehicles for residents to keep scheduled appointments as required.
