Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A Truck Driver to join our team in support of highway and heavy construction projects. This position plays a key role in the transportation of construction equipment, materials, and aggregate products to and from job sites in a safe and timely manner.
Relationships/Management: The position will interact with all crews on-sites as well as within the yard.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:2 years of proven commercial driving experience with tractor-trailer driving required. Construction experience preferred.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Class A Truck Driver:
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs. Including dump trucks, side and/or belly dumps.
- Transport heavy equipment, construction materials, and aggregates to job sites as needed.
- Coordinate with field supervisors and dispatch to support project timelines.
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive commercial vehicles.
- Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage.
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
- Track and report working hours.
- Adhere to company rules and regulations.
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations.
- Make safety a priority at all times.
Skills and Character Attributes:
- Must have a Valid Class A Commercial driver's license.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations.
- Must pass a DOT drug test and possess a current health card.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and securement standards.
- Experience hauling heavy equipment and operating various trailer types is preferred.
- Alert, focused, and detail oriented.
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
- Must be a team player.
