Overview
The Vice President of Business Development, Senior Living, is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive growth, revenue, and strategic partnerships across senior housing, assisted living, and post-acute care segments within an assigned territory. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Senior Living Operations and supports organizational strategy and census growth through development and execution of business development strategies. The role also supports partnership development, client relationship management, and advancement of integrated care initiatives across business lines.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth goals
· Identify and evaluate new markets, service lines, and partnership opportunities
· Drive expansion into new geographies, communities, and senior living segments
· Implement sales and marketing strategies to expand senior living services within assigned territory
· Monitor market data including competitors and marketing strategies and collaborate on comprehensive marketing plans aligned to volume projections
· Partner with home health business development teams to coordinate presentations, in-services, and referral source engagement
· Manage pipeline development, sales performance, and revenue growth targets
· Lead initiatives to increase occupancy through referral development and marketing alignment
· Establish and track key performance indicators related to sales conversion, occupancy, and revenue
· Build and maintain relationships with referral sources and external stakeholders
· Cultivate executive-level relationships with senior living operators, hospitals, health systems, physicians, discharge planners, and industry partners
· Participate in the annual budgeting process for senior living operations
· Report on business plans and performance outcomes to executive leadership
· Collaborate with internal teams to support payer contracting and negotiation efforts
· Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve outcomes
· Evaluate financial feasibility, return on investment, and long-term strategic value of opportunities
· Forecast admissions and growth in collaboration with business partners
· Serve as a brand representative and strategic advisor within the senior living market
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in hospice and/or home health business development
- Experience in senior living, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or healthcare services
