Huntington University Arizona is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach CS111 Introduction to Computer Science for spring semester of 2027, a 3-credit course. This Computer Science course aims to introduce essential computer concepts and terminology for effective communication in today's world. Topics covered include historical perspectives, computer architecture, operating systems, networking, societal impacts of computing, and applications like spreadsheets, databases, web development, and programming. Programming topics include input/output, loops, decision structures, arrays, and methods, focusing on good programming practices and problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field; or five years of relevant experience.
  • Teaching experience and demonstrated potential for college-level teaching
  • Supportive of a Christian faith environment and the University’s educational goals
  • Should enjoy creatively and interactively teaching students

THE ADJUNCT PROFESSOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Teaching college-level course(s) in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines;
  • Providing quality teaching including related preparation and grading;
  • Providing class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested;
  • Maintaining accurate records of students and complete forms as required;
  • Prompting punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Work Schedule: This course meets twice per week.
