PrideStaff San Diego is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a great manufacturing client. This is a temporary to direct opportunity and pays up to $30.00 per hour DOE.
This is full-time, 1st shift, Wednesday - Sunday , start time is 8 am - 4:30 pm with training on 1st shift Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. f

Job Overview
In this role, the manufacturing maintenance technician repairs and maintains the operating condition of electrical, mechanical, laser, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical manufacturing equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing equipment modifications, maintaining spare parts inventory, authorizing work on equipment needed from outside services, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Industrial Maintenance required (recent experience preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, laser, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical equipment and safety policies
- Knowledge and ability to perform Machine Shop functions – Mill, Lathe, Surface Grinder
- Must have good communication skills, both written and spoken
- Knowledgeable of MS Word and Excel
- Team player
- Excellent work ethics, including punctuality
- Able and willing to learn the client's processes and procedures
- AA/AS Diploma, Trade School or Equivalent applicable experience
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively participates in improving facility safety
- Minimizes equipment downtime to facilitate maximum manufacturing productivity
- Documents Preventative Maintenance
- Performs equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures. Provides input to improve PM procedure effectiveness
- Identifies and procures equipment spare parts to maintain spare parts inventory
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment failures.
- Implements maintenance plan changes to prevent recurrence
- Releases new or modified equipment to manufacturing per validation instructions
- Communicates observations and recommendations to stakeholders
- Able and willing to work overtime on other days than scheduled per business needs
- Performs other duties as required by Maintenance Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, push/pull, and walk about the facility.
- Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials
Work Environment
- Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
- Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials
- At times may be exposed to high noise levels
- Able and willing to wear client t-shirt onsite
- Safety glasses and safety shoes are required and other personal safety equipment required as required depending on task. (Including but not limited to full-face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves).
