Hospital Overview
A nationally recognized women’s and newborn specialty hospital in Houston, Texas is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – NICU. This large acute care facility is dedicated exclusively to women’s and neonatal services and is known for:

Delivering 800+ babies per month, among the highest volumes in Texas

Operating a Level IV NICU, providing the highest level of neonatal care

Offering a NICU Family Support program in partnership with a national nonprofit

Specialized expertise in obstetrics, high-risk pregnancy, infertility, pediatrics, and women’s health

Position Summary
The Nurse Manager – NICU supports the Director in overseeing daily operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role ensures high-quality patient care, effective staff leadership, and alignment with organizational goals. The Manager provides clinical oversight, supports performance improvement initiatives, and serves as a mentor and resource for nursing staff across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating NICU operations

Lead, mentor, and support NICU nursing staff in the delivery of patient care
-
Ensure nursing care is delivered according to best practices and the nursing process
-
Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
-
Coordinate staffing and scheduling across days, evenings, and nights
-
Serve as a clinical expert and resource for staff
-
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence in neonatal care
Qualifications
-
2+ years of NICU nursing experience required
-
Recent (within 1 year) acute care NICU leadership experience required (Level III or IV NICU)

2+ years of management or charge nurse experience
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
-
Active Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact License
-
Texas RN license required within 60 days if compact
-

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
