Job Description
We are seeking an accountant to join our growing hospitality management team. In this role, you will be working closely with the controller and our outside accounting firm to complete a variety of accounting tasks/projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and checks requests
- Research invoices and resolve vendor disputes
- Verify expenses meet contract and budget criteria
- Assist in accounts receivable management
- Intercompany billing and transfers
- GL account reconciliation
- Assist with loan reporting
- Assist with month-end adjusting entries
- Analyze data for opportunities/issues
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Proficient in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
- Comfortable with technology
- Team player willing to pitch in on general office tasks/errands as needed
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two to five years of related experience preferred
Other Desired Qualifications:
- Payroll experience
- Sales tax experience
- Hospitality accounting experience is a plus
- College degree or coursework in accounting
- QuickBooks Online Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
- Infrequent travel to hotel sites may be required
