Tooling and Die technician – MANUFACTURING IN AUTOMOTIVE a MUST

26-38/ hr depending on experience levels

Summary/Objective
Is in charge to prepare the tooling and dies and other tooling in according the Production and PM-Plan to ensure the top condition of our tools to fulfill the customer’s quality demands.

Supports production during improvement and trouble shooting. Can build (by following/reading drawings) and optimize new tooling’s to ensure high availability of the production lines. Is able to use standard tools (drill press, grinder, welding machine)

Responsibilities:

Prepare the tooling’s for the next production run

Maintain the tooling’s according the PM-plans

Manufacture of automation systems for press systems (press shop and PHS)

i. Pretend automation at the simulation station of the press system and make it according to guidelines and your own design as well as experience (sawing, welding, assembling)

ii. create complex orientation and empty stations

iii. Build PHS automation based on experience without designs considering robot moving and projecting edges of product carrier, CFS carrier, tools and machines.

iv. Build automation (cut, weld, assemble) at the simulation station of the press system (e.g.construction drawing, sketch)

Manufacture of simple steel structures (e.g. collision protection, lamp frames, gauges)

v. Manufacture steel structures (steel structures) according to the drawing (saw, weld, assemble)

Manufacture gauges (saw, weld, assemble)

Keeps all required records and maintains a clean work area.

vi. E.g.: Documenting material consumption - Record installed consumables and report to the supervisor/Documenting the PM-plans

Tooling secondary tasks

    1. Documentation of every work on tooling’s in shift book
    2. Operate crane systems
    3. Operate simple machines (drilling / sawing / grinding /)
    4. Carry out simple metal bending work
    5. Maintain cleanliness and order at your own workplace

CFS

    1. Prepare the carriers for next production
    2. Maintain the carries according the PM-plans

i. E.g.: Documenting material consumption - Record installed consumables and report to the supervisor/Documenting the PM-plans

ii.

2. The role is also responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, or recommending repair of existing tools. The Tool

3. and Die Maker assists and assures that all tools and dies are effective in meeting production goals.

4. 4. Advises in the process of setting priorities for Tryout Resources to support tooling trials, CI projects,

5. tooling design efforts, and production troubleshooting.

6. 5. Ensures tooling capability, longevity, and production repeatability.

7. 7. Sets up, tries, and develops new tooling including but not limited to new rolls, pre-notch dies, and cutoff

8. dies which have been made to design.

9. 8. Develops tooling to insure that it will produce quality product at, or in excess of, standard rate of, before tooling is released to production.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum one-year certificate from college or technical school: or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer: Technical experience or Technical Degree
  2. Basic knowledge in using electrical and small industrial machines / hand held tools ( cut off tools, electrical grinder, drill press, band saw, surface grinder, cold saw, bending machine )
  3. Mig welding certification from college or technical school: or 2 years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer: technical experience or technical degree

Preferred

· Associates degree

· Tool and Die certification

· 3-D modeling background
