Job DescriptionJob Summary:Focused Staffing Group has partnered with a school in Washington, DC that seeks a dedicated and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive healthcare services to students and staff, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires expertise in first aid and triage, medication administration, documentation of medical incidents, and effective communication with families during health emergencies.Key Responsibilities:
- First Aid and Triage: Assess and provide immediate care to students and staff for injuries, illnesses, and other health concerns.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications in compliance with District of Columbia regulations and maintain an active DC Administration of Medication Certification.
- Documentation: Accurately document medical incidents, treatments, and follow-ups using established forms and protocols.
- Family Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for families during health emergencies, providing timely and clear updates on their child’s condition and next steps.
- Health Education: Promote a healthy school environment by educating students, families, and staff on wellness, disease prevention, and safety.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and federal health regulations and ensure the school adheres to all applicable guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Active DC Administration of Medication Certification (required).
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the District of Columbia (preferred).
- Proven experience in first aid, triage, and emergency medical response in a school or similar setting.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate medical records and incident reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
