Successful Candidates will have:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program.
    • Certified by one of the following:
      • NRCMA
      • RMA
      • CMA
      • NCMA
      • CCMA
    • IF not certified by one of the above, 2 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You may be asked to become certified as a future requirement of employment.
  • If not graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, then 5 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You will be asked to complete courses and become certified as a future requirement of employment.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified, or able to be obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Must exhibit the ability to work with people (staff, visitors, and clients).
  • Willing to travel to all Swope Satellite Clinics and temporary testing sites if needed.

    Job Responsibilities:As a Medical Assistant,you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. As a Medical Assistant, you are responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examination and treatment. This includes recording vital signs, medical history, and social history, assisting the provider with the examinations and treatment, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record system. Under the general supervision of a medical provider, you will perform general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You are a critical part of the patient-centered medical team providing quality, accessible, and safe healthcare. If you have a passion for working with a team of dedicated caregivers to make care visible every day, this role is for you.

    • Greet patients and escort them to the treatment room, making sure patients are comfortable and prepare the feet for an exam by physician.
    • Open and prep exam rooms each morning / close and clean exam rooms at end of day
    • Work with multiple providers and travel with them to different locations if needed.
    • Complete pre-authorizations, medical histories, medications, allergies and enter into EMR system
    • Complete rapid health indicator
    • Oversee inventory of back office supplies, order new supplies if needed
    • Patient education

    Schedule:Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

    Pay: $18 - $22 hourly, depending on experience

    3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

    • 2 + years' Medical Assistant experience
    • Knowledgeable about medical terminology
    • Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
    • Must have excellent customer service skills
    • Medical office experience

    Nice to Have Skills

    • If no Cert, must have 2+ years of experience, diploma, and be willing to get certification in first year.
    • Looking for someone who is independent

    • Must have a team mentality, flexibility and willingness to learn
    • The ability to communicate effectively, multi-task and work under pressure is the key to success in this position, which also requires attention to detail and a commitment to achieving consistent customer satisfaction.
    • Must exercise good judgment and discretion
