Job Description/Requirements for Nuclear Medicine Technologist
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging Department. This role is responsible for performing diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and specialized imaging equipment. This candidate is required to have a medical imaging background with specific experience in nuclear medicine.
***This position is not suitable for general laboratory technicians without nuclear medicine imaging experience.***
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment (gamma camera, PET, or related systems)
- Ensure high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and monitor patients during exams
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Perform routine quality control and equipment checks
- Collaborate with radiologists and imaging team members
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related medical imaging field
- Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine technology program
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
- Active state license, if applicable
- Previous experience in nuclear medicine imaging required
- Laboratory technicians without nuclear medicine experience will not be considered
