The Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering patient care in alignment with our organization's Nursing Conceptual Framework. This role involves collaboration with surgical teams and various departments while ensuring patient confidentiality, professional accountability, and compliance with nursing best practices and certifications, including BLS and ACLS. Utilizing the Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing processes, this role focuses on providing exceptional patient care. The Registered Nurse II is accountable for the care of assigned patients and coordinates with the surgical team in partnership with other departments. Upholding patient rights and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information is essential. Responsibilities are carried out in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details:
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, fulfilling all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: A minimum of six months of experience in the operating room. Must be proficient in Level I requirements as outlined in policy.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire. Additional certifications may be required based on the specific position or unit, including:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
• Must be capable of gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to fulfill job responsibilities.
