Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing specialized psychological services in an educational setting located in Pueblo of Acoma, NM, this role focuses on supporting student mental health and learning needs through counseling and comprehensive evaluations. The position is a contract opportunity with responsibilities spanning the Extended School Year (ESY) and the regular academic calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling services to students during ESY beginning June 1, 2026, and continue counseling services during the school year from August 2026 through June 2027.
- Conduct thorough psychoeducational evaluations for Special Education eligibility and Gifted and Talented program determination.
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering professional insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with educational staff to provide psychological support and promote a supportive school community.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Current valid psychologist license.
- Proven experience performing psychological and educational evaluations.
- Knowledgeable in IEP development and the special education process.
- Familiarity with or willingness to work within the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) system.
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Schedule and Location:
- ESY counseling services: Approximately 4 hours once per week in June 2026.
- Regular school year services: 23 days per week, about 6 hours per day, from August 2026 through June 2027.
- Position based in Pueblo of Acoma, NM.
