Running‑Obsessed PT Wanted: Marathoners, Triathletes, and Ultrarunners Only - Bergen County
Job Description
Job Description
If you’re a DPT who eats, sleeps, and breathes running – long runs, tempo work, race calendars, and shoe geekery – this is the job you’ve been looking for.
If you just “like working with athletes,” don’t apply.
About Next Level Physio
Next Level Physio is a cash-based performance PT and coaching company with 4 offices in NJ and NC. Our ads, our programs, and our monthly coaching are built for one group: runners and lifelong athletes who choose to invest in performance, not gen-pop “grudge” PT.
We already have a small but committed running community and coaching arm that is spring‑loaded for growth. We’re hiring the PT who will help us blow it up.
The Role
We’re looking for a DPT who is a:
- Marathoner, triathlete, or ultramarathoner (currently training, not “used to be”)
- Runner who wants to assess runners, break down gait, and prescribe non‑traditional PT aimed at performance, not just pain
- Community builder who wants to be out at races, run clubs, and events, not hiding in a treatment room
You will:
- Perform detailed runner assessments and gait analysis
- Recommend PT and performance plans that keep runners training while fixing real problems
- Optimize performance: load management, strength, mobility, and race preparation
- Host running workshops and clinics
- Lead or support run club meetups and help organize local races / events
- Seek and nurture running partner business relationships (run shops, clubs, coaches)
- Enroll runners into our monthly online coaching program and earn revenue share on those sign‑ups
What You Get
- Top‑of‑market salary for outpatient PT (starting from $90,000/year, DOE)
- Revenue sharing on monthly online coaching clients you enroll
- 401(k), health insurance, PTO, CEU reimbursement (up to $2,000)
- A caseload focused on runners and active adults, not a random mix of post‑ops
- A team that actually understands and supports cash‑based, performance PT
- Real path to a supervisory / leadership role in our running division as we grow
Requirements
- Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, active in the state of New Jersey
- Minimum 2 years ortho/sports experience (exceptions case‑by‑case for strong running background)
- Personal background as a marathoner, triathlete, or ultrarunner
- Comfortable with ethical sales in a cash‑pay setting
- Comfortable with Dry Needling (or willing to become certified)
- Able to work 8‑hour shifts, including 2–3 evenings per week and rotating Saturdays (about once a month)
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to build community
How To Apply
Send:
- Your resume
- A brief note on your running / tri / ultra background (PRs, races, what you’re training for now)
- A few sentences on why building a running community and coaching program excites you
Work Location:
- One location
