The Town of Johnstown, Colorado, is seeking passionate individuals to join our Police Department as a Police Officer Cadet. Be part of a vibrant and growing community where your work truly matters. If hired, you will begin by attending the POST academy for a semester in January 2026. Once you graduate the academy and then become POST certified you will enter our mini-academy and receive more training to become a professional Police Officer.

The Town of Johnstown provides generous benefits including vacation, holiday, sick time, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan contributions, and health savings accounts.
Cadet starting rate: $30.40/hour
Police Officer starting rate (after POST academy): $38.00
