Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years PSYCH RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment focused on patient-centered care. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement nursing care for psychiatric patients across the age spectrum.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort in accordance with established care protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to infection control policies and standard precautions regarding bloodborne pathogens.
- Respond competently to emergency/crisis situations requiring physical stamina and critical thinking.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- CPI or equivalent certification.
- Proven skills in psychiatric nursing and familiarity with patient rights and developmental communication.
- Ability to work varied night shifts with a flexible approach to schedule changes.
- Physical capability to manage patient transfers and endure extended periods of standing and walking.
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
