\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n
- \n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (requirements for practice in Michigan apply)\n
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)\n
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)\n
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience (one year of ICU experience preferred)\n
- Experience in LTAC, rehabilitation, or critical care nursing is a plus\n
- Ability to supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees\n
- Strong clinical assessment, delegation, and communication skills\n
\n\nResponsibilities\n

- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission as part of LTAC nursing care\n
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams\n
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process\n
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching starting at admission\n
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner\n
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and patient safety\n
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing personnel (LPNs, CNAs)\n
- Promote patient and employee safety, adhering to hospital guidelines and safety policies\n
- Contribute positively to unit team building and maintain effective communication with management\n
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested\n
- Engage in professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC and critical care nursing\n
