Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies prior to each surgical procedure.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies, anticipating the needs of the operative team.
• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout all procedures and respond quickly to changing intra-operative needs.
• Count instruments, sharps, and sponges; assist with specimen handling, documentation, and OR breakdown after each case.

Requirements

• Active Surgical Technologist certification / CST.
• Minimum 1 year OR scrub experience; paediatric surgical experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Ability to adapt to the pace and variety of a paediatric surgical caseload.
