Radiation Therapist (Radiation Oncology) - Travel Position

Location: Boise, ID

Job Type: Travel Contract

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 5x8s

Pay: $2463/week

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for accurately administering prescribed radiation treatments to patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and precision throughout the process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in oncology care.

Certifications & Requirements

  • -BLS (AHA or ARC) required
  • -ARRT Radiation Therapy certification required
  • -Must have 2-3 years of Radiation Therapy experience minimum
  • -Must have Varian True Beam experience for
  • -Must be proficient with ARIA (EMR system)
  • -Preferred experience with Epic EMR, True Beam and Trilogy equipment

Equipment & Technology

  • -Linear Accelerators: 2 in Boise, plus others in surrounding locations
  • -CT Simulators available at multiple sites
  • -Equipment brands: Varian, Siemens, Toshiba
  • -EMR systems used: ARIA and Epic
  • -Imaging/Studies performed: 3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRT/SRS; occasional CT simulation

Work Environment & Scheduling

  • -Typical shifts: Monday-Friday, variable start times between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM
  • -Treatment hours generally 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • -No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
  • -Travelers expected to be flexible to cover gaps in permanent staffing
  • -Clean, neat scrubs of any color or business casual attire acceptable
  • -Department orientation usually 1 shift per site, depending on floating expectations

Additional Information

  • -Radiation therapy staff may float to other facilities if needed; no float pool
  • -Average daily scans/studies: 20-40 depending on site
  • -Always at least 2 treating therapists on shift
  • -Radiation Oncologists and midlevel providers available on site
  • -IV experience preferred but not mandatory
  • -Supervisors or leads available each shift; they typically do not perform treatments but can if needed
  • -Travelers have been successfully integrated; some have transitioned to permanent roles
